Marc Marquez has kept his Austin, TX winning streak alive for the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, TX. Marquez, running his #93 Respol Honda Team RC213V bike, was placed in the fourth grid position after an illegal move for blocking caused him to be penalized for race day.
MotoGP is back in Austin, but while the attendees may have been excited to see their favorite riders back on the Texas tarmac, the same feeling was not shared for many of the riders during practice and qualifying on Day One of MotoGP at Circuit of the Americas.
Circuit of the Americas is home to the smallest of track days to the arguably most-important event of them all: Formula One. Yet, a happy medium of interesting and captivating racing and size can be found each year the Pirelli World Challenge comes to the 3.42 miles of Texas turns. As you’ll find at any car meet,…
‘k. I’ve run into a couple of y’all floating around Pirelli World Challenge, so why not? I’m going to watch the TCR/TCA race from the Turn 15 bridge (as in, on it, since I don’t think they care about folks standing on it for this race) if anyone at COTA wants to join me tomorrow.
So it sounds like Sunday (Sunday Sunday) might be a good time for a Pirelli World Challenge mini-meetup? Wanna maybe meet up somewhere to look TCR/TCA at 12:25 tomorrow?
Hey! Who’s at COTA for World Challenge this weekend? Any interest in a meet-up?
Another great USGP is in the books!
Went out to Circuit of the Americas again last weekend for a multi-group track day and parking lot car show. Lots of crazy hardware on display, but didn’t really get that many interesting pictures of any of it for various reasons. Here are a few of my favorites from the morning:
This Cadillac ATS-V.R will do.
Trying to buy my ticket for the USGP. There is an option for Delayed Processing at an additional cost of $21.65. That doesn’t sound like a particularly good option.

Nowhere near through editing all the photos from yesterday’s Edge Addicts day at COTA, but here are some highlights so far:
I took my daughter to see her first racecars on Saturday.
It’s like the Star Wars up in here.
How do you close out a three day anniversary that has had a few bumps and falls? Well, you start early and build a day that makes up for any failings that may of occurred in the first two. Race day is the only day left at the race venue to redeem yourself and come up smelling like roses. Sunday sure as hell did…
I managed to get to the track earlier than the previous day, clearly a good thing. It made for a good start into day two of my three day weekend with COTA. If anything, day two of this weekend can be summed up in one word, COLD. It was as if someone had turned the ac down and just left it on the freeze setting. …
Queue the duh-duh-dunn music for day one. It was all off to an auspicious start, alarm had gone off on time, tickets printed, and backpack packed. Then it hit me, the I’m not going anywhere till my stomach settles down blues. In a full year of attending COTA I have learned that I’d rather not spend too much time…
Today is an anniversary of sorts for me and that sexy track called Cota. I spent all of last year going to every event as part of my season ticket pass. It was a remarkable experience, as up till that point I had never seen live racing trackside. It wasn’t even my idea, I was gifted tickets to the 2015 F1 race the…
