The 55 Chevy is finally complete and to celebrate the entire garage went to a local car show. This is the first time ever all the oldest owned cars have all been running. The 55 is still got a few bugs to work out, but its up and driving. it was a lot of fun to get them all out to photograph together.
Almost definitely the most famous example here, the E93 M3 pickup April Fools joke. But there was originally a E30 pickup built as a vehicle to deliver parts, as BMW has no commercial vehicles of any sort, and the E93 was built as a replacement, but someone had the brilliant idea of it as an April Fools prank.
Key takeaway from my first show: I wasn’t pushing my wheel fitment boundaries enough. Yet to stay true to being a truck, and being OEM+, my options were limited. Time for a quick thought experiment, feel free to add to the discussion in the comments.
This past weekend went pretty well with the Prelute taking two awards in its first show! Small show in its inaugural year, and as far as trucks went I don’t think there were more than a couple of “us”, but an honor nonetheless and a very educational experience.
