Got the van back last night, shiny new duals installed:
My new 17 Camaro RS V6 manual is breaking in nicely. I’ve installed the GM performance intake and ordered the Flowmaster American Thunder exhaust.
Brother-in-law got the rusted out muffler on his 02 Park Avenue replaced last weekend. I saw it sitting out front of my house when he came to visit and didn’t like the way it looked.
I’d really like to have a less restrictive exhaust installed on my ‘91 MR2, but I haven’t been able to find headers that are certified CARB-legal. Where should I be looking for upgrades?
My 2.5" manifold back exhaust is on and it is perfect. Deep/aggressive at idle/low revs, almost silent at cruising speeds.
Today some neighbourhood realtors sponsored a dumpster day, so I got rid of an old garden hose (because it leaks in 5 places, and also because I no longer have a garden) and this classic gem for those of you familiar with my F355 stories:
There are two correct ways to vent the exhaust for a vehicle. Side pipes and under the rear bumper.
and love how it sounds now! I had originally put on a original exhaust kit on the car when I first put the car together and the kit had been a nightmare from day one, but I put up with it for 10 years. The rattling and leaks finally got to the point that I had to replace the whole system from manifolds back. Went with…
I guess it’s fine just by itself.
This was a thing that was hyped a while back, but their webpage for it hasn’t been updated in a while. I can’t find any documentation of the sound on YouTube either. Was anyone else excited about fancier exhaust-sound tuning?
Look at my glorious tips OPPO
You may remember my post a few weeks back about my rusty exhaust shearing in TWAIN on the highway. That was fun. Well, since that was the last OE exhaust for the Supercharged MR2's back when I bought it, and no aftermarket options exist for anything resembling a reasonable price, I had to go the DIY route.
I overlooked that the S2000 I bought already had a cheap intake on it... so may as well stick on another bolt on!
As with any exhaust video, a parked revving car doesn’t the way it does under load. You can hear the general characteristics though which are rumbly on idle, silent through 2500rpm, then a nice exotic wail 2500-3500rpm. I absolutely love this setup because at any cruising speed its in the silent sub 2500 zone and…
Just deleted the mid muffler on the TL and it sounds fantastic, but is very very mild still. The tone is exponentially better, and under full throttle it sings. Around the city I can barely tell the difference, and I haven’t experienced any drone yet.
