Damn it. I watched Kingsmen: The Golden Circle on a flight last week and I have this song stuck in my head. I grew up during the height of John Denver’s popularity, was never a huge fan, but his music is buried deep enough into my lizard brain that I can’t get it out.
The New Mastersounds are my latest musical discovery and I’ve been listening to their stuff while working on my new illustration project (more on that tomorrow).
My current driving music drug of choice below for your listening pleasure. Something about the rhythm and the way it builds is just right for corner carving* in any season. The real RIFFAGE (Drew Magary voice) kicks in around 3:05.
I’m trying out a mastering too that uses machine learning to master music, and while it won’t completely replace a seasoned mix engineer, it does the job well enough.
This came up on the workout playlist. I’ve always liked songs that use drums as more of a centeral element as opposed to just for keeping tempo. Also, the video...
Past 3:11 in the first clip it gets all thud-y and I guess some people like that but not me. If anyone can splice that with the cut from the second clip and make the end part of the first one just a sort of backing/bed, that would be great.
A dark horse, but it’s possible.

So that’s what I’m doing right now. I was just trying to dolly up a version of Alan Walker’s Force that has violins and brass and all that amazing shit and now I really think I’m in over my head with this one.
Still one of the best live shows out there.
THIS is how you open your debut album!
I do would like to hear a version that sounds more like the BGM in the trailer below this line.
I need to go see live jazz performances more often, but Charlotte is not exactly known for jazz like New Orleans! Great stuff in a nice not booze soaked venue tonight.
Cartoons need more big brass in their intros.
Best thing is two player mode at Ashland with the exploding chicken cheat enabled. Time it right, hit the other player’s undercarriage with a chicken and watch them go spinning about 45 feet in the air.
Steve Vai with “Tender Surrender.” Just something for your head space. Im noticing that online interactions are becoming more and more negative and aggressive lately all over the web. It seems as if many are in attack mode and it’s hard to find words of praise anywhere.
