I love snow. The first snowfall of the year is one of my favorite things and I’m always sad to see Winter leave. But even for me, an inch of snow on April 19th is a little unsettling.
I’m a simple man. Red miatas make me happy.
Miata Is Always The Answer
...and I’m slower. Way slower.
To celebrate happy motoring heres every time I posted about the car before buying one. I really wanted a Miata.
Still have some areas that need work, but progress has been made. Still enjoying my new Huion tablet.
So it’s time for a new illustration! Behold the lifted Blobata. (This is the rough-in stage, it’ll clean up from here.) As for my new graphics tablet:
Here’s that picture of my rotted chassis rail I promised you a while back. It’s worse than it was last time I was under the car.
The Miata seems to have an oil leak, but the thing is so gunked up that I can’t tell where it’s coming from. I want to clean it off to diagnose the source, but I’ve not cleaned an engine before. What should I use and how should I use it?
There’s practically nothing that hasn’t been shoved into a Miata’s engine bay. K24's, V6's, K20's, rotary engines, turbos, superchargers, and of course, the LS V8. Like the original Mini, the Miata is a blank canvas that anyone and everyone can turn into their own piece of art. Supplying a lot of the paint is Flyin’…
(No, your eyes aren’t going funny, tweaked the background to make the high quality aero mods a little more visible)
So I drove with the top down for 45 minutes in 25 degree weather. Wasn’t that bad actually!
I’m looking for Christmas presents for my brother. What I’d really like to get him are a couple of t-shirts. One with an NB Miata and the other with a 3rd-gen Trans-Am. I’m having trouble finding anything that I’m willing give as a gift, but I figured y’all might have better sources for such apparel than I’ve been…
My MX-5, henceforth known as White IV, has been relieved of daily duties, which are now being ably handled by RAD-740 (aka Drift Fridge).
As far as the car scene goes, it honestly feels like time is running out. Autonomous cars march ever closer, automakers are obsessed with pumping out ever blander crossovers, and stocks of 90s JDM metal aren’t going to last us forever.
I’ve only had blizzaks before and they were great, but I feel like I killed them fast. I’d also like to try out rallycross and I’m assuming a winter tire would be better in dirt then a summer tire. Any advice from Oppo?
So I got a new job where my pay increased by about ~50%, but my round-trip distance to work went from 36 miles to 66 miles. I really, really hate putting so many miles on my 328i, so I was thinking of getting a fun manual car to both finally own a manual car and also stop putting so many miles on my “good” car.
I am very happy about this. 30-33mpg for my normal commute and 35-37 highway. 35mpg was sitting right at 80mph for the entire tank too.
I spent $3000 on my MX-5, and it’s done almost 400,000 km.
