On the subject of mid-size cars available as of March 2018, the B8 Passat continues to be one of my preferred designs. That being said, it is still a little on the aggressive side. Are others fairing any better?
It’s been a long long while since I’ve done a Used Car Face-Off and never before on a Monday, but with AP tests done and a particular car conveniently popping up on Craigslist the circumstances just seemed right.
Prepare for a massive photo dump. I took these about a month ago in an old abandoned saw mill. There are no posted trespassing signs, and as you can tell by the photos, its popular with the youth. The ground was littered with glass, so I salvaged as much wood as possible to serve as protection for my tires. A month…
It took a little longer than promised in the settlement, but as of yesterday our involvement in the TDI Buyback program ended* when left hand VW Credit received the loan payoff portion of our settlement from right hand VWoA.
As much as I’d like to say that most of what people criticize VW for isn’t true, I’m here to say that to me, it is true. I recently took my Passat to the dealership because two tires decided to go flat at once, plus the air conditioning is currently making the car shake violently at idle and at speed, plus strange…
Why do we get a watered-down American Passat instead of the Euro Passat? If they wanted to build the Passat in the US, couldn’t they just build the Euro model here? They seem pretty similar, and it seems like Volkswagen is doing the opposite of what Ford did by consolidating their Mondeo and Fusion. So, what’s going…
I apologize for being a bit late to the car meme party here, but I just got home and saw all of them. Here’s mine for my Passat.
when VW revealed the new North American Passat after the dieselgate scandal in the fall, they showed the public a R-Line Passat. what the actual hell actually happened to it?
But it’s a Volkswagen!
Volkswagen is getting really desperate, 5K off a new Passat! Holy %^&$%#^$!!!!
A bit late tonight but better late than never! Here we have the driveway of what seems to be a Volkswagen enthusiast, but will old or modern be the choice for you? Choose your favorite and guess the location!
If you describe yourself as a normal person, take a look in your phone’s contact list. Rifle through all those names until you find the dullest person you know. Take a good look at that phone number - that should be the one you dial when you have questions about buying a car. If you think the best route is asking your…
Here’s a B8 Passat, just like you can buy at your friendly VW dealer (unless you live west of the Atlantic of course).
There are lots of stereotypes about Volkswagens, and German engineering in general - some more true than others. The last 2 years of W8 ownership have given me a bit of a new perspective on all of them.
Current look of Becky. Bumper is getting painted. Rained a couple days ago in SoCal and she's been hibernating because yes it's cold for her here. El-Oh-El
The S6 Avant I was looking to buy didn't work out, so I've moved on to a W8 4Motion Passat Wagon. I love my current Passat and the 3.6L engine, but have ZERO insight into the W8 re: reliability/issues/driving feel.
Recently my brother visited from the Netherlands and got a 2015 Passat for a rental. I've done a couple of Car Reviews, and figured I'd review my first non North American car. It was actually also the first time behind the wheel of a European sedan in probably 8 years.
Some B6 Passat porn for your trouble:
