I went ahead and ordered the last of the necessary parts to hopefully get the Volvo roadworthy. One upgraded in-tank fuel pump and OEM filter, please!
Not only did the shop refuse to smog the Volvo due to the oil leak, the mechanic is convinced that there’s a misfire, which is not unreasonable.
For a long time I’ve rolled my eyes at David Tracy’s heaps and his various misadventures.
Funny how mildly uncomfortable both guys are.
This charming shard of plastic was recently removed from my boot after jabbing sharply into my foot.
Wheyward souls! Start packing! Quit your job, cancel the utilities, and tell your roommates your moving out! You’re going on an adventure into the great outdoors. You are now an official rubber tramp. The road is your home in this 1985 Ford F-250 diesel 4x4, custom expedition camper! But wait, there is a catch, it…
I’ve always been a diehard member of the Make It Fit Association (TM).
First let me say I wasn’t drunk when I was driving. I’m only drunk while I’m writing this review.
Scotty Kilmer is pretty huge in the YouTube world, with just over one million subscribers and 890 videos to date. This begs me to ask the question, why?
The thing is a 2013 Ford F150 Lariat. Has the 3.5L twin turbo Ecoboost, 6 speed, 3.55 rear end. The Lariat package gets me the 20" wheels, leather, navigation, etc. One owner truck with 55,000 miles.
Cooking up something fun.
10 allen bolts and the head is off!! Coming from someone who had never picked up a wrench until four years ago, I never believed I’d get this far with any car! So proud of myself. After a new head gasket and a sorted out cooling system, this thing is gonna run on all cylinders for the first time in over 15 years!
As far as the car scene goes, it honestly feels like time is running out. Autonomous cars march ever closer, automakers are obsessed with pumping out ever blander crossovers, and stocks of 90s JDM metal aren’t going to last us forever.
It finally hit me when I was looking at the car last night.
Now to figure out why “ovlov” is a thing. Yes, I know, it’s Volvo backwards. But why? I’ve never heard anyone say “drof” or “telorvehc”...
Scored this puppy for $750.
That said, after flights, motel stay, rental car, new windscreen, registration, and petrol to get it 1400 km home, it’s more like $2500.
That said, it was a pretty great feeling to finally score this one after an exhaustive 6 month search.
But I test drove this 996 Turbo yesterday and I’m suddenly questioning whether I need to spend 40% more on a Turbo than a base C2 to gain a whole bunch of speed and grip that I’ll use about 20% of on a regular basis. Age is catching up to me and I don’t appreciate it.
Updates will be sporadic and of low quantity, just like my income.
