Do you see the car above? That looks like a LeMons car (especially being pushed into a pitbox). See what’s wrong with the car below?
Today was the first Junkyard Race at Zandvoort. The Dutch 24 hours of LeMons.
Only it lasted just under 6 hours.
The theme was Movie and TV racers.
Not that you would be able to tell as most of the teams didn’t care much for dressing up the cars.
And I have my doubts about a lot of the cars being bought for under 500 euros.
I say a lot of the cars. There were 5 or 6 cars on track at a time at most and about 10 cars in competition in total.
Yeah...
Anyway, let’s cut them some slack. It’s their first go at this.
Here are a ton of pictures.
Super professional pit-board:
Ooh. These look GOOD in person.
Underneath the main grandstand is a garage that services the cars for a drivers training/trackday school. They allowed me to take a few shots inside. Lot’s of hidden stuff to spot:
Back to the action on track. The Dumb and Dumber BMW smoking badly:
Only spin I saw when I was there:
They got the 70’s bodyroll down to a tee!
And a last shot before I left:
Bonus atmosphere pictures:
Zandvoort looks so dilapidated this weather:
