The last F-4 out of AMARG...

Illustration for article titled The last F-4 out of AMARG...

So apparently the last F-4 (technically a RF-4C) from AMARG was almost definitely the F-4 that I saw a week and a half ago while I was late dropping my daughter off at daycare. I wish I had known, I would have been carrying around my 400mm lens to try to capture it.

And now it's off to be fitted for drone usage and likely eventual destruction. For more information on that, see The Final Mission: The USAF’s QF-4 Target Drones.

None of the pictures here are mine (all of them are from official AF / DM websites). All of the pictures are available in hi-res formats and I have included links (lede pic is here ).

Additionally there is a great thread over at http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/1… that has some more wonderful pictures of this specific plane and it's final days at DM/AMARG.
