This is The Opposite Locker where we try and sort out the cool from the square. You are free to discuss your point of view of the cars, on the board and up to bat, within the comments with an optional use of the "Anna Kendrick Test." This is a discussion system detailing how cool a car is, not how fast, fun, or frivolous it may be, but how well it looks in the cat's pajamas.

Try a different web browser if the polls do not show. Asterisked* cars are moved more than slightly from the original vote, by use of veto power. If you are confused about whats going on click here.

  • Chysler 300*
  • Dodge Challenger
  • Toyota GT 86
  • Porsche Cayman - The Cayman could be as fast as the 911, but Porsche have been perpetually kissing the brakes when it comes to the Cayman's technical development and what they decide to include in the performance figures. The new model dates the first time that a Cayman is worth buying, even if you still can afford the 911. The new Cayman is fast and formal, but still understated, which is cool.

  • Ford Focus
  • Chevrolet Corvette (C7)
  • Mazda MX-5 Miata
  • Pontiac Trans Am
  • Ford Mustang
  • Porsche 911 - The new 991 looks the same as the old model, but this is Porsche we're talking about; its expected. Its the most inoffensive performance vehicle there is, and there is no room on the 'frigid' board without offending a few people. However, the 911 is the sleekest car there is, under the radar, but not enough for people to not understand that your car is fast and different than the norm.

  • Nissan GT-R
  • Chevrolet Camaro
  • Porsche Boxster* - As I write this, the votes for 'square' and 'uncool' equal the votes for 'cool', so I am going to veto this one. The new Boxster looks ages better than the outgoing model, but it is not yet proven to be anything other than your overly-plasticized wife's unnecessarily 0ver-engineered car. Uncool.

  • Mercury Marauder*
  • Toyota Camry
  • Toyota Corolla

The New Kids on the Block - Porsche Pageant Part 2

Porsche's diversion from the 911 into other markets will only ever increase, so long as its ownership by the Volkswagen group keeps hold. The Cayenne has become Porsche's biggest sales cow (there's a pun here...); will its popularity, speed, or presence be the deciding factor in its coolness? The Panamera, on the other hand, is the worst looking thing to come out of post-war Germany, possibly ever; is there a way around its German attractiveness?
