This is The Opposite Locker where we try and sort out the cool from the square. You are free to discuss your point of view of the cars, on the board and up to bat, within the comments with an optional use of the "Anna Kendrick Test." This is a discussion system detailing how cool a car is, not how fast, fun, or frivolous it may be, but how well it looks in the cat's pajamas.

Try a different web browser if the polls do not show. Asterisked* cars are moved more than slightly from the original vote by use of veto power, and double asterisked** cars are vehicles moved back under a challenge. If you are confused about whats going on, click here.

  • McLaren P1 - It's a Hybrid that spits blue flames! The McLaren P1 does not suffer from the sterile simulated perception of the MP4-12C. The ride is terrific, and the names sounds less like a fax machine and more like a experimental fighter jet. Frigid.
  • Porsche 918 - The 918 is unlike any Porsche before it. It's the only hypercar that looks understated, which is cool. The electric motors will please your Greenpeace girlfriend, and the V8 will kick you in the rear when she's gone. The McLaren and LaFerrari will turn heads from people who don't know anything about cars, but the 918 will not turn heads unless you give them a reason to notice. Watching the Chris Harris take, the 918 has a different idea of how to build a hypercar. Frigid.

  • Ferrari LaFerrari - The Ferrari LaFerrari is the best looking Ferrari flagship model ever (I know we're all partial to the technical purity of the F40, but its doesn't really have any curves), but the name is ludicrously stupid. As we are seeing by the poll numbers, it is extremely difficult for a Ferrari to break through the 'pompous' barrier. Uncool.

New Kid on the Block

The Nissan Z has been far out-shined by the GT-R. Sales for the Z series has been rapidly tanking since 2003, sales were only slightly curbed this effect with the 370 refresh. Possible explanations for the lack of interest could include: its grotesque styling, its lack of competitive power, or its relative price range. The question remains, do declining sales mean that this car is uncool, or is it uncool regardless?
