The worst part of putting in the helicoil to fix my sheared bolt problem was the part right before this picture.

Yup, I fished the helicoil tang out of the blind hole with a pair of toothpicks. Took about 20 very frustrating minutes of failing to lift the tang at all, or dropping it halfway up the hole. My magnetic pickup tool wouldn’t fit through the installed helicoil, and the only pair of tweezers I could find was too wide as well.
