The F-150's rear sliding window porthole. That sliding window that is useful only for grabbing a beer on the move from the guys riding in the back accommodating long items that would otherwise be hanging way over the tailgate.

So what exactly were they thinking here? Sure it looks neater, but the window is now not only ridiculously small, but now instead of your load resting on the metal track it’s resting on... glass. Specifically, an expensive-looking one-piece construction that is the rest of the rear window. And probably tempered (iirc all windows but the windshield are usually tempered, no?) glass at that, which could mean bad times if your load chipped the edge...

In fairness, I’m sure Ford didn’t neglect the shattering issue, but that opening is still stupidly small and I don’t like the idea of my load surface being glass.
