The Kubota’s rear axle is hard mounted to the chassis while its front axle is fixed to a pivot on the chassis centreline. There’s no springs or damping anywhere apart from the tires. This leads to some VERY disconcerting behaviour when you’re on any sort of slope with a load in the bucket. As soon as the CoG moves beyond the line between downhill rear contact patch and centre of front axle - which doesn’t take much considering how far the bucket is offset from that line - the front axle pivots to full travel and the whole vehicle lurches onto three wheels. Scared the shit out of me the first time it did it: thought I was rolling it for sure.
