Road slipperiness (a.k.a. skid resistance and road friction) is the technical term for the cumulative effects of snow, ice, water, loose material and the texture of the road surface on the traction produced by the wheels of a vehicle.

Usually I take Wikipedia as the word of the divine whats-his/her-face, because so does Google because Google uses Wikipedia to fill out that little information field at the side of your search results and well Google is basically the universe but simplified and with added lightness and faster search times... but I'm really having trouble buying this one.
