I have a 2015 Mazda 3s Grand Touring Hatchback (manual, of course). I also know literally nothing about tires, and I don’t want to screw it up when I need new ones!
The tires I am currently rocking are Dunlop SP Sports. They were the higher end tires available from my local Mazda’s service center, but I did not notice a discernible difference from my stock tires. I am not sure if the problem was with the tires, or with my driving. Most of my driving is commuting. I drive fairly aggressively, but very little in the way of twisties and windies. I’m also not much of an enthusiast driver (I blame my big feet on being able to heel-toe... but in reality it’s that the motion felt really uncomfortable so I gave up on it quickly).
I’m willing to spend more if the tire gives me a noticeable improvement in my driving. That said, if my rather tame style of driving will not be enhanced by a set of nice tires, I’d love some suggestions for a set of inexpensive tires that will last me a decent amount of time.
