TL;DR Reviews: Volvo 760 Turbo - "I Derbied a Volvo"

Welcome to TL;DR Reviews, where you can learn about a car at a stoplight before it turns green! Don’t do that. But, just saying, you could. Keep an eye out for new reviews. You can also write your own provided that you know how to read. If you don’t, enjoy the pictures below.

What is it? 1987 Volvo 760 Turbo, a midsize sedan that came with a turbocharged and intercooled 2.3 liter inline four cylinder engine. The 177 horsepower and 186 torques were sent through a 4 speed automatic to the rear wheels. Despite its many luxury options and superior safety equipment, curb weight was only around 3000 pounds, about the same as a modern Ford Focus.

760 interior. Yes, it comes ith an equalizer. Photo from

Pros: Reliable, Scandinavian, turbo, safe, good visibility, quirky (unique, interesting, overengineered, weird)

All straight edges. Photo from

Cons: Not very fast, frustrating automatic transmission, quirky (a lot of small things to go wrong, overengineered, parts availability and pricing)

Recommendation: 10/10 would hoon. 10/10 would daily drive. The key to this car is to not sweat the small stuff, because some luxury components will inevitably break. But if you maintain it, a Volvo 760 will be your loyal carriage forever. Unless you smash it. But, even there, the Volvo scores a perfect 10.
