the 71, old reliable. have had it since late 99, i show this one to you guys all the time, youre probably all tired of looking at it. it has a 350 smallblock, sm465 4 speed manual, 373 gears, its quick for an old truck, and LOUD. has headers, and 3 inch exhaust, that dump just before the axle. i get visited by the county regularly for noise complaints. i have had 5 engines in it. two transmissions, three clutches, and two sets of rear gears. has 3.73 now, had 3.07 until they ran dry. ran over a deer, tweaked the diff cover and killed them. truck was quicker with the 3.07s i have had no less than 5 parts trucks for it over the years, and still have 2 trucks worth stashed away in different parts of the yard. has also hit all manner of critter. manual steering, manual brakes, you can fix most anything on it with a hammer or a coat hanger. 8.50 mpg.

gone but not forgotten.... the 72 suburban that i got with a friend. we both traded some junk we owned to a guy and went halves. dont buy cars with friends, it usually goes south. it was a 72 suburban, 4x4,350 v8, th350, with 8 lug 3/4 ton axles, 4.10 gears. former forestry truck. he wanted to “restore” it. he got as far as taking it apart. then a nephew of his put a dent in the dash during dis-assembly, and that was it, had to go. i managed to scab all the decent sheetmetal, glass, and the rear diff, and trans. was a SHAMEFUL waste of truck. still angered over it.
