I saw a little gem at work and had to return to it after I clocked off. I took some awful pictures as well.
It's a Touring 2000 tii build between 1971 and 1973.
While reminding me of the little Opel I saw last year, the 2000 tii with 130hp drives in a different league. I guess the four-banger`s 177Nm will throw the weight of just 1035kg around like an Orca playing with a baby Seal.
All this means only the top of the range Turbo was able to bring you to jalop-nirvana faster back in the day.
I think we can all agree that both Tourings show an unmistakable lineage. So, thankfully "Touring" is clearly not just a name some marketing people dug out to give BMW's lifestyle-trucks a connection to the history of the brand, right?
(There are a few other interesting cars parked at the shop. I will return when it`s warmer outside.)
Bonus round: Have two dreadful potato-shots more...
