So.... the Ford/New Holland/Shibaura 1720 features a 1.5L OVH mechanical injected 3cyl diesel rated at a storming (haha!) 28 HP. Now here’s the thing, at 1.5L and 28 HP that engine is practically the poster child for “understressed”.... enter turbochargers:
It seems the engine takes ~5-7PSI like a champ at 2500RPM leading to a near ~10HP increase.... stock compression ratio is 23:1...
Anyone know about adding turbos to mechanical injection diesels? whats involved in altering the fuel flow rates? How likely am I to blow this up?
