Have a picture of my STi engine bay sans intercooler. You can just see the turbo in the top left of the bay. Its got the red elbow coming out of it that hooks up to the IC. I needed to remove it to get the secondary air injection valve off last spring. Then to unbolt the secondary air valve you had to crawl under and reach up through the wheel well to get to a bolt that is on the top side of the engine but pointed the wrong way to reach it from the top. Turns out packaging a boxer engine is a bit problematic.
