Last night, in a desperate last ditch attempt to fix an EGR CEL light I pulled off all the vacuum hoses attached to the EGR valve and blew through them, then used a copper wire on a few on the hard lines and connectors...something I had already done once.

When I fired it up this morning? no CEL! I hadn't even disconnected the battery so its not likely to pop back on again. Hooray!

On a related note, I called the dealer to see what it would cost to replace the front main seal and the oil pump cover o-ring, I have a quote from a good cruiser shop at around $600 for both. The dealer quote? $800 for the o-ring and $980 for the main seal. I literally laughed at the service adviser and then thanks I think I will go elsewhere.
