Alright, the Wagovan has been at the car doctor all day and they have some good news and some bad news.

The good news is everything I said was OK was OK.

They checked the timing, valves, manifold vacuum, distributor, and carburetor tune and they were happy with most of it. They adjusted the carb and timing a bit, but overall were very happy with the setup.

The bad news is they think the problem is the strainer in the tank. The reason this is bad news is I don’t buy it.

They do, however, claim this is something they’ve encountered before and the sock/ strainer was the problem.


Skepticism aside, I told them to go for it. Bit pricey, but this close to the trip I don’t want to deal with it.
