Welcome to Generation Gap where we ask you about your favorite generation of a certain multi-generational car nameplate. Then, explain why your choice is right to the rest of us uneducated folks.

This week’s Generation Gap focuses on a line of cars which is somewhat of a weakness for me: RWD Volvo wagons! Since before 2000 Volvo has never had distinct generational redesigns, I have decided that each model line (e.g. Duett, 140, 240, 740, etc.) will represent one generation. Thus, we have a period of nearly fifty years to choose from in today’s Generation Gap. As always, vote for your favorite and explain in the comments. Let’s begin.

The options:

Volvo Duett [1953 - 1969] (and facelift)

Volvo Amazon [1956 - 1970]

Volvo 140 Series [1966 - 1974] (and facelift)

I myself would have to go with the 700 series, the underrated brother of the 200 line...many memories were made in them, and they are awesome with a turbo-4 and stick shift...
