Alright Oppo, so this morning my wife found someone had broken a key off in her driver-side doorlock. There are 3 scenarios I can see for this: Someone was trying to steal her car/things inside her car; someone was being a dick and just breaking a spare key off in her door lock; or someone was drunk/asleep and tried to open the wrong car. Either way I want to find out what car this could belong to. She has a 2001 subaru and this key does not match subaru keys from what research I have done - there isn't even another Subaru in our parking lot let alone one from that time period. Even if I don't find the person whose key this is, I would like to know so I can keep an eye out for more shenanigans.

Thanks!

p.s.: pliers are the best way to get broken keys out of door locks...as long as some of it is sticking out...

EDIT: Sorry guys but it seems there are too many keys with this general key profile (off-center ridge with the top edge being trimmed down) so who knows if it I will find out...
