After the partnership announcement, the press keeps bringing us all sorts of news about joint projects, from crossovers to hybrids and coupues. But that’s small talk...

As you know, Mazda engineers repeatedly announced their wish to move the brand towards mostly RWD.

Lexus has RWD platforms but they’re plagued by weight(heaviest in class in some cases, even if the GS F is lighter than the M5).

Here comes the light bulb đź’ˇ. A joint task team of engineers, from Lexus and Mazda, should be formed. With the sole purpose of developing an advanced, modular, perfectly balanced, lightweight RWD platform that will underpin most of the upcoming Mazda and Lexus vehicles.

The possibilities are endless.
