One of the stud bolts that holds the exhaust in place is sheared off inside the engine block. It would likely not be too difficult to extract, IF I could actually get to it, which I cannot. There is a metal bracket in the way which I thought was part of the kickstand frame, but I learned is welded to the engine mount and cannot be easily unbolted and moved out of the way. I started to dismantle, thought better of it, and quit for hops and contemplation.
