Illustration for article titled When Japanese Cars were Beautiful in their Simplicity.

I saw this lovely 1979 Toyota Celica ST on a trip to Evansville this weekend and seeing such a well kept and rare example of Toyota's finest years delighted me. It was in kick-ass condition even equipped with a wooden steering wheel and wood dash accents. It was for sale for $3200 which seems like a great price to me. I wonder if the body color bumpers are stock?

In other news car spotting has taken over my dreams. I've had countless dreams about finding and photographic Hudsons, and aircooled VW's, and old Volvos. If you want to see more cars I've spotted check out my tumblr at or on Instagram @thisvelologist.
