Just thought I’d share a couple of images taken of a car in the shop, as an example of what to look for when your early (BPY/BPG/BWT) 2.0T throws fuel pressure regulation faults. Remove the high pressure pump from the head (it’s easy) and look for this. If it’s not been done, it’s a good idea to pull the pump for an inspection periodically. This one needs a cam and pump, but in some cases the pump is ok and you can replace the follower. There is an updated, hardened cam available from VWAG to address this well-known issue, and several service bulletins to this effect.
