Well today I go my 44mm/70cc kit for the Tomos. Install was going great, Untill I broke the piston rings.

One thing that’s nice about the kit I bought is that it’s shipped to you with the piston already in the cylinder, buuuut I wasn’t being careful and it dropped out. While trying to get it back in I broke the rings. That a 20 dollar mistake, and now I have to wait another week for them to get here from California. Bummer. The good news is I still need to paint the bike, so I wasn’t going to be riding it for awhile anyway. I started taking a wire wheel to the rusty spots on the frame, there was waaay more rust than I would have thought. But it’ll also surface rust. I’m getting as much off as I can, and will hit the rest with some converter before I start painting.

Anyways here’s some size comparison pictures of the old and new piston/cylinder.

Also the old one is cast iron. Sucker is heavy for how small it is.
