Uneventful day of wrenching. Pretty much cleared out the whole to-do list under the hood of the E46. Valve cover gasket done, the one in there was in good shape still but whoever did it last left off a few washers so the baskets on those bolts had no pressure and were leaking like a sieve.

Oil and oil level sender changed as well. Pretty much all that’s left under the hood is the cabin air filter. It was naaaaasty. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if I was told it was original to the car from 2002.

Had to go out for parts twice during the job, used the 996 as my parts hauler. The guys at the parts store must have thought I looked funny getting out of a Porsche wearing camo pants and a Monty Python shirt buying parts.
