My brother-in-law came to visit just before Christmas. He stayed through the New Year, then headed south to explore the Texas coast. He came back on Monday, and was supposed to leave today. But since he has so much to load up, he decided to leave tomorrow instead. Now he is sitting in my desk chair in the living room, watching conservative blowhard pundits on YouTube on the big TV. He’s not packing. I am hanging out in the back of the house, practicing.
I like my BIL a lot. He’s a great guy. But he’s also lived alone for 30 years, and moves at his own pace. He’s also semi-retired, so he has no set schedule for getting home to Indiana. I was looking forward to today, since it’s back-to-school day for my kids. I was anticipating a quiet morning of practicing and working on teaching invoices and maybe a little writing. Yeah, not so much.
